LearningMate Product Update, September 2021

Global

“ACMT” renamed to “Frost Align”

One of our major updates is the re-branding of ACMT to Frost Align. ACMT (Academic Competencies and Management Tool) supports end-to-end development and alignment of learning frameworks to each other and to education resources. The re-branding of ACMT to Frost Align reflects how our partners are using it, and its importance in the Education Technology Ecosystem.

Integration of Frost-Zendesk Help Center

Frost now has an integrated Help Center which provides users with details for all products and components. It also includes comprehensive FAQs. Additionally, we’ve launched a Service Desk where a user can ask questions to our customer support and product teams.

Co-branding of Customer Logo

Every organization has their own branding/logo. With the ‘Co-branding of Customer Logo’ feature, users can now have their own branding/logo along with Frost product branding across all platforms.

Admin

Set Up User’s Password

Tenant admins now have an option to set up account passwords for their users while creating, or modifying a user account, or associating it to another tenant. Alternatively, the tenant admin can also create a user account which will generate a notification email for users to set up their account password.

Password Complexity Checks

Initially, when a user created a new password, there was no indication for the user to understand all the complexity elements which were covered while creating that password. With the ‘Password Complexity Checks’ feature, a real-time evaluation of the password complexity is implemented such that the users are now able to view and understand the complexity elements that were ticked off while creating the password.

GDPR Compliance – Right to Portability

The Frost suite of products now adheres to the GDPR- Right to Portability compliance where only the minimum amount of users’ information which is required to access the application and complete the tasks is collected by the admin. The compliance ensures to hide all user’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that can be used to identify them.

Frost Designer

Authoring Improvements

With the improvements in authoring, users can now add media or documents from Project and LO Repository as external links. Additionally, Font color, background color and font size were controlled by the theme initially. With multiple requests received, you can now change it from the editor as well, since we have added it as an option in the toolbar.

Course Outline Improvements

With the improved Course Outline, users can now receive visual indication on the snackbar on adding, editing, reusing, deleting, and locking/unlocking a node.

Learning Object (LO) Repository

Automatic Gadgets Identification

Valid gadget objects directly uploaded to the LO Repository are now automatically identified as Gadgets thereby reducing the manual intervention required earlier. Users can also preview the newly uploaded Gadget.Download Physical Resources

LO Repository had capability of uploading resources but there was no capability to download it. So users can easily download physical resources from LO Repository based on certain permissions.

Frost Align

Custom Association Type

Since Frost Align is a case compliant application, it supported only case association names provided by the case framework. With this feature, users can now use their own defined custom names for Custom Association Types and therefore view the custom associations names and not the case terms.

Alert Messages via Project Configuration

Most of the time authors used to miss the mandatory alignment with their respective University, State, School, and Firm standards. The ‘Alert Messages’ feature was specifically developed to notify the authors for missing alignments. Missing standards/LO  alignments can now easily be tracked by authors.

Metadata Listing and Reordering Taxonomy Nodes

Initially, the metadata listing interface took time to load and the reordering of taxonomy nodes above 4K was not possible. With this improvement, the time taken to load the metadata listing has been reduced to approximately 30 seconds, and now a larger group of taxonomies gets reordered within minutes.

Public Review Configuration

The ‘Public Review Configuration’ feature provides an improved user experience & UI for users to view only those taxonomies which are set for public review. This feature was basically implemented to reduce the dependency of users on the LM back-end team.

Frost Explore and LearningMate Transform

Permission Enhancements

Enhancements have been done and new permissions have been integrated for the ‘Browse by Standard’ feature which will help the admins to control the browsing or viewing experience for the programs and courses on Frost platforms.

User Experience Improvements

Initially, for every resource description, a Frost user would see it as – Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4 rather than a grade band (Grade K-4). Since District and State, High School and Middle Schools use grade bands like K-3, 9-12, and 6-8, we enabled a filter to provide a smoother experience for the educators to search for content on Frost platforms.

New Integrations

Frost Explore  and LearningMate Transform supports the common resource types such as PDF, Audio, Video, and Image along with external tool content such as H5P interactives. Besides, epub player integration makes it easy for a user to preview the Epubs, Ebooks, projects, or courses created and published in Frost.

Browse and Search the Academic Standards on Frost Explore

An intuitive user interface has been created for ‘Browse and Search’ the Academic Standards on Frost Explore to make it easy for users to view the resources and the academic standards aligned with the resources along with the whole list of academic standards. A common portal is designed to assist District and State, High School and Middle School faculties to view, maintain, and browse the Academic Standards and Digital Learning Content.

Upload Content in LearningMate Transform

If a  faculty is open to sharing and uploading their newly created resources, using our ‘Upload Content’ feature, they can easily upload it in a central repository, and share it with other faculty members.
