Approximately 50% of recently arrived immigrants have at least a bachelor’s degree, yet one in four are unable to get a job at their skill level. For the economy to prosper, we must reimagine the systems that lock them out of opportunity. In this episode, guest Lorenzo Vanelli discusses his journey from immigrant job seeker to becoming Upwardly Global’s Content and Learning Senior Manager and supporting their mission of dismantling employment barriers for immigrant, refugee, and asylee professionals.
About our Guest
Lorenzo has been working with Upwardly Global since 2021 and in his current role, manages processes to provide internal and external users with up to date, efficient, tailored, actionable content and learning resources. He has three degrees from the University of Bologna - a Bachelor’s in Anthropology, a Master’s in the Disciplines of Music, and a Doctorate in Philosophy. Lorzeno is a lifelong learner and also has obtained multiple credentials from topics ranging from Applied Data Science to Social and Behavioral Research.
