Instructional Designer (Nursing) – Contract/CTH (U.S.)

Location: Work from Home (EST Preferred)

Primary Purpose:

We have several contract and contract-to-hire opportunities for Learning Design Consultants (Instructional Designers).  Hours TBD/week including immediate needs for two full-time (40 hours per week) projects:

Start Date September 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021 (5 months, potential to extend)

Start Date September 15, 2020 through December 31, 2020 (4 months, potential to extend)

The primary scope of work is designing curriculum for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program for one of our US Clients in Higher Education.  

For this engagement, we require creative, high-energy, and results-focused Learning Design Consultants who are:

  • Specialized in curriculum designing, course design, and development including blended learning solutions for nursing courses (Higher Education domain)
  • Capable of recommending design solutions based on the client requirements and audience needs
  • Experienced in end-to-end course development including storyboarding, visualization of the concepts, use of rapid authoring tools, etc.
  • Cognizant of learning design strategies such as Backward design and UDL principles.
  • An excellent communicator, since this engagement involves a lot of collaboration between different stakeholders (SMEs, US IDs, IND team, etc.) 
  • Proficient in SME interaction, client interaction and team management and working with dispersed teams
  • Available to attend meetings from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm ET, as needed.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Scheduling and facilitating weekly SME calls
  • Creating Course/Competency Specification Documents
  • External Mapping & Alignments
  • Mastery Statements (with client oversight)
  • Work with the client Curriculum Designer such as:
    • Preparatory meeting(s) with Academic Team
    • Curriculum Mapping
    • Checkpoint Meetings & documentation
    • Dean working sessions, with others as needed

Deliverables:

  1. Completed Course/Competency Specification Document (one per course)
  2. External Standard mapping as required by the program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Post Graduate Instructional Design degree or certificate a plus, but not required
  • Four or more years’ experience in Curriculum Learning Design in Higher Education 
  • ID Experience in Nursing Curricula a plus, but not required
  • Experience collaborating with faculty subject experts
  • Experience aligning/mapping content and curriculum to outcomes/competencies
  • Experience authoring measurable learning objectives
  • Experience writing guidelines for faculty on teaching/understanding the course
  • Experience authoring rubrics
  • Knowledge of D2L
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours with minimal supervision
  • LearningMate has offices in India and USA and global customers. Coordination with the teams primarily in India would require early morning or late evening calls/meetings 
  • Proficient in MS Office 365, Google Applications, and video conferencing apps (i.e., Google Chat, Zoom)
