Business Development Associate, Higher Education, and K12 Sales

Location: Remote (US-based, Eastern time zone preferred)
Primary Purpose
LearningMate seeks a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Business Development Associate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with prospective clients, generating new business opportunities, and contributing to the overall success of our sales efforts. This position requires a proactive and outgoing individual who can effectively communicate with clients, uncover their needs, and work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with classroom teaching experience to grow into a consultative-sales role. Training and development opportunities will be available to enhance your skills and contribute to the overall success of our sales efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Generate appointments: Utilize proactive outbound prospecting techniques to generate appointments with potential clients. This involves making cold calls, sending personalized emails, and leveraging other communication channels to engage with prospects.
- Lead discovery: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify and capitalize on opportunities from generated leads. This includes conducting research on leads, understanding their requirements, and qualifying their potential as clients.
- Selling and influencing: Demonstrate strong selling and influencing skills to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products or services. Build rapport with clients, address their concerns, and highlight the benefits of working with our company.
- Collaboration with senior executives: Collaborate with senior executives to secure new business opportunities. This may involve coordinating meetings, providing necessary information and materials, and supporting the negotiation process. There is a commission opportunity associated with booking new business.
- Learning and development: Show willingness and desire to continuously learn and develop skills in order to progress into a senior sales role. Seek feedback, engage in training programs, and stay updated on industry trends to enhance sales capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or education.
- AND/OR 2+ years of experience in a related role, preferably in lead generation with an emphasis on customizing pitches (sales experience not required).
- Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Effective time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience leveraging social media platforms and other networking tools to expand professional connections.
- Strong social networking skills. Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- LearningMate has offices in India and USA with global customers. Coordination with the teams, primarily in India, requires early morning or late evening calls/meetings.
- The work environment is primarily indoors at home, the client’s office, or in other professional settings with minimal to moderate noise.
- When traveling, there may be some exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions, as well as potentially hazardous driving and traffic conditions.
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands to operate computers and other office equipment.
- Occasionally lifts or exerts force up to 25 lbs.
