Building Data Interoperability: New Hampshire Department of Education’s new SLDS

The New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED) is committed to using high-quality, accessible data to support students, educators, and education leaders across the state. As reporting requirements and the demand for timely insights grew, NHED saw an opportunity to modernize its State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) and create a more connected, scalable data foundation.
However, legacy data was distributed across siloed systems, making it difficult to standardize information, streamline federal reporting, and efficiently respond to evolving state and federal data needs. NHED needed a solution to unify historical and current data, reduce manual processes, and support more reliable reporting and analysis.
With support from a State Longitudinal Data System infrastructure priority grant, NHED partnered with LearningMate's Double Line team to implement a Common Education Data Standards (CEDS)-aligned data warehouse. Through automated, incremental data pipelines and specialized data marts, the new platform establishes a single source of truth, enabling stronger interoperability, improved data quality, and a more sustainable foundation for federal reporting, statewide analytics, and data-informed decision-making.
